" . . You really can't fault a place like the Cornerstone Community Centre - they offer morning yoga sessions, educational activities and a host of classes and events for the young to the local
over-60's community - please keep it up!"
Cornerstone is a Registered Charity (no. 1024932) and is run by a committee of volunteer trustees, two paid staff and a team of dedicated volunteer helpers.
The centre is at the heart of a very active community. Every week, over 60 different groups use the centre. Throughout the years, we have gained great experience in supporting and advising small, informal, self-organised community groups.
Cornerstone is a lively community centre located in central Hove at the corner of First Avenue and Church Road. Please click FIND US (above right) for our address, map and directions as to how to find us.
The centre is fully accessible for wheelchair users with an outside ramp and an internal lift. The accommodation is bright and full of character, being the award-winning conversion of the nave of St John's the Baptist Church; the full account of that story is on our 'HOME/HISTORY' page.
We offer two rooms on the ground floor of similar floor areas: St John's Room with adjacent kitchen and Brunswick Room. On the first floor is Adelaide Room, with views down into St John's Church and above that on the second floor is The Loft. Details and plans of all rooms can be found under our 'ACCOMMODATION' pages.
All are air-conditioned, can be reached by stairs or lift and are complete with tables, chairs and whiteboards. There are baby changing facilities at second floor and a wc for the disabled at both second floor and ground floor level, off St John's Room.
